Among Women Filmmakers is a Caravan of Arab and Ibero-American Women Films which:

• translates Arabic films into Spanish and Ibero-American films into Arabic, and
• distributes these films in Arabic- and Ibero-American-speaking countries.

For this reason Klaketa Árabe and Asociación Cultural Cinerizadas make an annual selection of audiovisual works.

Eligibility for participation in the programme:

• Audiovisual films made by Arabic- or Ibero-American-speaking directors with Arab or Ibero-American production or co-production.
• The films must be presented in their original language.
• Ibero-American films which have not been previously subtitled in Arabic and vice versa.
• Each participant may present one or more films.

The participants must send a copy of their work on DVD (PAL) by postal mail to one of the following addresses:

Selected participants must:

• Send a copy of their work in the format Betacam SP/PAL, or Betacam Digital or MiniDV for subtitling and screening. The deadline to send the selected copies is 31 November, 2010.
• Send promotional material (photos and texts) for catalogue preparation and distribution of the film in the media.
• Grant the use of images from the film, which in no case will exceed three minutes, as promotional material for the programme.

Klaketa Árabe and Asociación Cultural Cinerizadas are commissioned to:

• Translate the film screenplays into Arabic or into Spanish and make a copy on Betacam and on DVD with these subtitles.
• Subtitle and screen each work twice at the Festival of Arab-Ibero-American Cinema Made by Women of Madrid and at the Festival of Arab-Ibero-American Cinema Made by Women of Cairo.
• Provide a subtitled DVD copy for the director or the producer who holds the rights to screening.
• Distribute the subtitled film in different countries for cultural purposes and acquire the rights to five screenings (after the two screenings in Spain and Egypt) of each film, with the following prices:
• 200 euros for films of more than 60 minutes’ duration
• 150 euros for films of between 30 and 60 minutes’ duration, and
• 100 euros for films of under 30 minutes’ duration.
• Undertake transportation and distribution for the screenings of the selected films on Betacam and DVD.

The entirety of the participating works, whether selected or not, will form part of the file of Entre Cineastas (DVD copy), which in no circumstance will use the films for lucrative ends on behalf of the organization.

In accordance with Article 5 of Law 15/1999 on Personal Data Protection, participants are informed that the personal details they provide for participation in Entre Cineastas will remain on file with the sole aim of providing services associated with the cinema exchange.

Participation in Entre Cineastas implies acceptance of these conditions and the authorization of Klaketa Árabe and of the Asociación Cultural Cinerizadas to distribute the subtitled work for cultural purposes in other countries and, according to the aforementioned agreement, for the first five screenings after the two screenings in Egypt and Spain.
